The Afghanistan United Front has reported another attack on the Taliban in Helmand, saying its forces killed two members of the Taliban’s vice and virtue department in Nawa district.
The group said the two men had been involved in the detention and harassment of young people.
On Friday, 4 September, the United Front released a video of the incident showing two people riding a motorcycle being targeted in the attack.
No further details have been released about the identities of the individuals or how the incident unfolded.
The United Front also said on 30 August that its forces had attacked two Taliban checkpoints in Helmand within 24 hours, killing at least nine Taliban members.
The group said it had seized both checkpoints and captured some Taliban weapons and ammunition.
Taliban officials have not yet commented on the attacks.
The Afghanistan United Front, led by Sami Sadat, a former commander of the previous Afghan government’s special forces, announced the start of military operations against the Taliban on 1 August.
The group says it has carried out at least 23 attacks against the Taliban in different parts of Afghanistan since then.
