The United Front of Afghanistan said on Friday, 14 August, that its forces had carried out three operations against Taliban forces in Helmand and Kandahar over the previous 24 hours.
According to the group’s statement, two Taliban police officers were killed and two others wounded in an attack on the Taliban’s first police district in Lashkar Gah.
The front also claimed that two other Taliban members were targeted in a separate operation in the Bolan area of Lashkar Gah’s seventh police district.
In another targeted operation in Daman district of Kandahar province, the group said its forces targeted a Taliban member.
The United Front said those targeted in the attacks had been involved in the detention, torture and killing of security and defence personnel from Afghanistan’s former government.
Taliban officials have not yet commented on the United Front’s claims.
