Residents in Kabul and various provinces of the country celebrated the first day of Eid al-Adha by performing the Eid prayer, sacrificing animals, and visiting recreational areas.

According to them, the first day of Eid al-Adha was accompanied by a sense of peace and security for many families.

Across Kabul, after the prayer and sacrifice, many families with hearts full of tranquility headed to parks and celebrated the first day of Eid al-Adha; places where children’s laughter mixed with the scent of Eid created simple yet meaningful moments.

The Ministry of Interior of the Taliban also pledged that special security measures were taken across the country and adds that all necessary actions for ensuring residents’ safety have been implemented.

The ministry’s spokesperson also called on residents to cooperate with the security forces to further enhance security.

Abdul Mateen Qani, the spokesperson of the Taliban Ministry of Interior, said: “Systematic security plans have been arranged by security experts and specialists in all provinces of the country, and in coordination with all security forces and national security organizations. Praise be to God, security has been maintained to a great extent, and we assure everyone that the holidays will pass safely, God willing.”

Eid al-Adha, alongside the tradition of animal sacrifice, includes other customs and traditions such as wearing clean and new clothes, distributing sacrificial meat, charity, prayers, and celebrations, which are common in Islamic communities, especially in Afghanistan.
